We’re looking for a Customer Service Representative to support our Customer Service Manager during planned time off, sick days, and occasional periods of high volume.


About the role

We're seeking a friendly, thoughtful, detail-oriented rep who can step in as needed to assist customers via email. Ideal candidates are problem-solvers with excellent communication skills, strong empathy, and a passion for helping others. Familiarity with jewelry, collectibles, or fandom culture is a bonus. This is a flexible, as-needed role perfect for someone who wants supplemental hours and enjoys working in a supportive, creative small-business environment.


Schedule Requirements

Upon hire, the Customer Service Specialist will complete training with the Customer Service Manager to prepare for part-time coverage during a planned vacation period (May 19 - May 29). Work hours outside of this timeframe will be scheduled on an as-needed basis.


Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer emails with accuracy, warmth, and professionalism
  • Assist with order inquiries, shipping issues, lost packages, delivery delays, and product information
  • Process returns, issue store credits, and document conversations as instructed
  • Provide temporary coverage when the Customer Service Manager is out of the office, on sick days, or unavailable
  • Maintain brand voice and uphold RockLove’s customer-first standards
  • Protect sensitive customer information and follow all internal guidelines


Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of prior experience in customer service (email-based support preferred)
  • Clear, concise writing skills with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable navigating Shopify
  • Experience with or knowledge of Freshdesk is a strong plus
  • Ability to remain calm, kind, and solution-oriented
  • Reliable, responsive, and able to work independently
  • Flexible availability for occasional same-day or short-notice coverage
  • Interest in jewelry, craftsmanship, small business operations, or fandom communities is a plus
