We’re looking for a Customer Service Representative to support our Customer Service Manager during planned time off, sick days, and occasional periods of high volume.About the roleWe're seeking a friendly, thoughtful, detail-oriented rep who can step in as needed to assist customers via email. Ideal candidates are problem-solvers with excellent communication skills, strong empathy, and a passion for helping others. Familiarity with jewelry, collectibles, or fandom culture is a bonus. This is a flexible, as-needed role perfect for someone who wants supplemental hours and enjoys working in a supportive, creative small-business environment.Schedule RequirementsUpon hire, the Customer Service Specialist will complete training with the Customer Service Manager to prepare for part-time coverage during a planned vacation period (May 19 - May 29). Work hours outside of this timeframe will be scheduled on an as-needed basis.ResponsibilitiesRespond to customer emails with accuracy, warmth, and professionalismAssist with order inquiries, shipping issues, lost packages, delivery delays, and product informationProcess returns, issue store credits, and document conversations as instructedProvide temporary coverage when the Customer Service Manager is out of the office, on sick days, or unavailableMaintain brand voice and uphold RockLove’s customer-first standardsProtect sensitive customer information and follow all internal guidelinesPreferred Qualifications1-2 years of prior experience in customer service (email-based support preferred)Clear, concise writing skills with strong attention to detailComfortable navigating ShopifyExperience with or knowledge of Freshdesk is a strong plusAbility to remain calm, kind, and solution-orientedReliable, responsive, and able to work independentlyFlexible availability for occasional same-day or short-notice coverageInterest in jewelry, craftsmanship, small business operations, or fandom communities is a plus

This is a contract-based role with advance scheduling (typically 2+ months notice).
